We strive to be sustainable ... here's some of our Green Credentials:

The hotel features adobe brick lined walls coated with white stucco and a terracota tiled roof which reduces solar absorption, making Terramaya fresh and cool even on the hottest days. Energy efficient A/C and lighting. A linen and towel reuse program is employed and linens and towels are sun dried.  Drinking water for guests is provided in glass carafes and complimentary purified water is provided to refill guest water bottles which reduce consumption of plastics.  Guest rooms and interior spaces are smoke free and locally sourced foods are used. Our kitchen composts all food waste.

Special emphasis has been placed on architectural and design elements, blending Spanish colonial features with a clean, contemporary aesthetic. Design features include: hardwood & glass french doors, an ample reading room with comfortable sofas & relaxing chairs, outdoor shower, colorful original artwork and extensive use of natural light. Guest rooms have white linen curtains & wrought iron accents which provide a crisp balance of clarity and precision to our design motif.

The Ruins of Copan are well known for their artistry, architecture  and high relief sculpture which provides a unique perspective on Maya culture and history. The archeological park is located in a lush setting, just 1 km from the village.

Copan boasts a number of fine museums & exhibitions in & around town, the most spectacular of which is the Copan Sculpture Museum located at the Archeological Park.

There are also three important archeological sites nearby; Las Sepulturas, Rastrojón & El Puente.

Copan is a quaint, laid back mountain village of pastel colored homes and friendly residents. Perfect for strolling, day or night - it is extremely safe.

There are plentiful restaurants, cafes and crafts shops and although the town tends to roll up the sidewalks around 9pm, there's always at least one nightspot open until midnight.

The nearby countryside abounds in ecotourism possibilities.  Highlights include; the Macaw Mountain Bird Reserve, hot springs, coffee plantation tours, horseback riding and birding.

Weather here is wonderful  ... most days are sunny and warm, with the average year round temperature, an almost perfect 78F  ... it's springtime ... all the time!
